Looking north towards Mouquet Farm and Thiepval Memorial on horizon. The Australian Memorial marks the spot where three Australian Divisions finally captured the strategic highground of Hill 160 where a windmill once stood on the Albert to Baupaum Road on August 4th 1916 after over a month of fighting. It wa here that they suffered their most severe losses in the Somme offensive.
