Berlin 2009. Twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall which I photographed in 1989 for the Independent Newspaper I returned to photograph the changes that have happened over the past 20 years..Seen here: The Soviet Memorial in Treptower Park, in the former eastern sector, built to commemorate the 5000 Soviet soldiers who died in the battle for Berlin in 1945 and are buried here. The memorial designed by Jakow Bielopolski and Jewgien Wuczeticz was built between 1946 and 1949.
